World of Warcraft + Programming

I’ve been spending some time playing World of Warcraft again lately, which most of you know I spent quite a bit of time playing once upon a time. Doing some light raiding and such, and I decided that this time around I was going to actually write some addons, since I’m a hacker by nature. I bought some books on Lua and writing wow addons… and it turns out to be pretty damn easy. You can see from the gallery I’ve got a few pics of it, and I THINK I’ve just included one here ![]()
still a lot of work to go on it, but it is going pretty well so far. It shows some various statistics about the current fight (I’m a tank, so I care about damage being done to me) and various important debuffs on the tanks (used to determine when to taunt, etc).

I haven’t kept up with WoW in awhile, I probably have 1 or 2 lvl 60 accounts left. Is it still fun to pickup now (and buy the expansion packs), and is it that fun with a bunch of lvl 80s or whatever the cap is?

Hey Mandrake,
I’m working on a small project with openFrameworks and was talking to a friend about needing speech recognition for it and he mention this site. I didn’t find your email, but would like to tell you more about it.
